Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is running a study focused on young pedophiles:

"If you are between 18 and 30 years old and were sexually attracted to young, prepubescent children (generally those 12 and under) during your adolescence (your ages 12 to 17), please participate in our anonymous interview and online survey. The purpose of our study is to learn about how an attraction to young children impacts youths’ experiences and relationships during adolescence. "

The participants will be asked to complete an anonymous, confidential telephone (Skype, Google Hangout) interview (~1 h) and to complete an online survey (~15 min).

The center is lead by Dr. Elizabeth J. Letourneau which I consider a person you can trust to. She participated on several media pieces about pedophilia which you can look up. People who have completed the phone survey reported a good experience with interviewers.

Pedophilia is not a matter of medicine, sexology or clinic psychology.
It is a matter of culture.
Our culture is , unfortunately , hostile against of pedophilia, so we all must suffer innocently.

All our trials and good intences are torpeded.

Thanks for posting, simgiran. I've just found about it and I'm always in when it comes to trustworthy studies and surveys. I'll let you how it was.

I've just finished about one hour long interview with a young lady from Moore Center and I highly recommend anyone with good level of spoken English to participate.

The interview is focused on every aspect of attraction towards children mainly during the period of adolescense in order to find ways how to help adolescents with issues that may stem from attraction towards children. The interview started with questions about my childhood and adolescense, I was asked about how I feel about that period of time, how my family and if there were any issues both connected and unconnected with having feelings towards children. We went through the topics of internal realisation of this preference and coming outs to other people and also how my attraction towards children looks like (age of attraction, gender, what I find physically appealing and what draws me to children emotionally, how are my relationships with children and so on).

The second part was about things I think could help adolescents with handling their preference. We talked about family and friends, school and education, professional help, literature and mass media and attitude of whole society.

The interview was very pleasant and well conducted. Afterwards I was asked to fill a short survey that took about 10 minutes to complete. It covered a few details which could be difficult for some participants to speak about. However there was always an option "I prefer not to answer this question".

I hope the research will help with creating a strategy how to help young people struggling with their sexual preference and I like that child abuse prevention center decided to go in this direction.
